A Toast to the Flag
by John J. Daly

Here's to the red of it-
There's not a thread of it,
No, nor a shred of it
In all the spread of it
From foot to head,
But heroes bled for it,
Faced steel and lead for it,
Precious blood shed for it,
Bathing it Red!

Here's to the white of it-
Thrilled by the sight of it,
Who knows the right of it
But feels the might of it,
Through day and night?
Womanhood's care of it
Made manhood dare for it,
Purity's prayer for it
Keeps it so white!

Here's to the blue of it-
Beauteous view of it,
Heavenly hue of it,
Stars-spangled dew of it
Constant and true;
Diadems gleam for it,
States stand supreme for it,
Liberty's beam for it
Brightens the blue!

Here's to the whole of it-
Stats, stripes and pole of it,
body and soul of it,
Sun shining through;
Hearts in accord for it,
Swear by the sword for it,
Thanking the Lord for it,
Red White and Blue!

Teardrops Born of Angels
Roy Rawlinson
copyright, April 14, 2000

An Angel's heart lies weeping
On high celestial plane
As men who died as heroes
Are told they fought for shame.
Her teardrops slowly tumble
They sink to tortured earth
Where souls scream out in torment
To hide the fearful hurt.

Now teardrops born of Angels
Float down from way on high,
And noble men of honour
ask "Why then, did I did?"
The night sky roars in anger
Bolt lightening thunders down.
Where went the word of justice?
Oh how did slip the crown?

A battle driven banner
Outcast as putrid wine
By men who have no concept
Of truth, as seen through time.
Their sins they will soon answer
To He, Who sits on high
For truth is everlasting
No more the twisted lie.

Let There Be Peace on Earth

Let there be peace on earth
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth,
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Fathers,
brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my Brother,
In perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me,
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment
 and live each moment
In peace eternally.
Let there be Peace On Earth
And Let It Begin With Me.
Flag Fact:
The Confederate Battle Flag, also known as the Southern Cross. It is one of many Confederate Battle Flags which was used during the War Between the States. Because of its attractiveness and shape, it soon became one of the favorite flags of the Confederate soldier and its popularity remains high among many to this day.
Since the war, we are sorry to say that this flag has become a favorite symbol used by many hate groups. This flag, like the many other flags carried by companies and regiments during the war, was not a symbol of slavery and was never intended to be considered or used in that way, nor for that purpose or cause. It was merely a battle flag which was used to identify the side on which the soldier was fighting, the same as the many variant flags used by the Union (Federal) forces.
This flag, and all other Confederate Flags, are saluted my members of the UDC, CofC, SCV, DCV and OCR (Order of Confederate Rose), and are used in their ceremonies and grave-marker dedications in honor and memory of all the gallant Confederate soldiers and sailors, (our ancestors), who fought and died under them.
Please be reminded that we do not pledge our honor to them, we merely salute them.
Our organizations proudly Pledge Allegiance to The Flag of the United States of America. Proudly She Waves and Proudly We Pledge and Honor Her and Everything for Which She Stands.

"GOD BLESS AMERICA, LET FREEDOM RING".
